LOL

TAF presented the exhibition LOL which discussed issues related to contemporary linguistic conventions as well as the ways in which electronic media have acted in forming everyday communication.

LOL means «lots of laughter» and constitutes an abbreviation of «laugh out loud». At the same time, it is a common element of Internet slang. Additional interpretations of LOL are offered by previous communication forms, including letter-writing in which LOL was used to denote «lots of luck» or «lots of love». The explanations of abbreviations mark manifestly the conditions, the expectations and the content of each era.

The exhibition LOL is the first undertaking of group Provo Principles for which all the artists have produced new works of art, exploring the conditions of the current social environment in Greece and encouraging the expansion of the sarcastic artistic thinking.
